Hey! I’m Coleman Spilde (pronounced spill-dee), and I have too many thoughts about culture in my big, square head. I’m currently a senior culture writer and film critic at Salon, with a vast background in cultural analysis. I specialize in film writing, particularly in long-form style and with an analytical — yet voice-forward and often humorous — slant. Other than Salon, my work has been published in Vulture, Slate, my newsletter Top Shelf, Low Brow, and The Daily Beast, where I previously worked as a staff critic.
